In various posts around the museum, the public meets mediators from both the museum and Hands on History who portray a number of historical characters from the Viking Age to the 20th century. Each character has a special function to fill, and are experts in their own niche. Some are good artisans, while others can tell the most amazing stories or are masters of fencing. What they all have in common is that they are passionate about bringing old knowledge into the future. This time the children get to do the opposite, take the challenges back to the past, to look optimistically at the future.
– For us at Hands on History, it has been incredibly exciting and rewarding to work closely with such a large and central cultural institution. It is also fantastic to be able to get started in an arena with so many different environments and opportunities as the Norsk Folkemuseum,
